Good Works: Are You Doing Any?

City LightsHomebuilders,

I always enjoy and learn from Pastor Doran’s preaching. What I need to do better at is applying it after I learn from it.

Yesterday, among other things, there was a focus on Matt 5:16, “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”

So, if you will, hit the comment button and give an example of a good work that someone in the world has seen you do in the past few weeks. . .

Took some diapers to a new mom on our street yesterday.

Visited a young Christian lady from India today. She and her husband moved to Amer. 1 yr ago. She’s a co worker of mine. Had a baby girl 1 month ago. Very little money. Took her diapers and clothes. The bond Christ creates betw. believers, in spite of cultural differences, is truly amazing!

Also visited Amy (mentioned prayer for her a couple Sun ago) today. She in the co worker who’s moving to a different facility in Flint, MI. She had told me a while back that she wished she could see Emmit (she’s in her late 30s, single w/ no kids, lots of health probs). So, needless to say, Emmit & I took a little trip to make a surprise visit:) Also gave her a card telling her how much she has meant to me over the past 4 years and a tract. Her mom died recently and seems to be unsure about her eternity.

It truly is a blessing to be a blessing to others (believers and unbelievers alike)! What a privilege to be able to be home w/ Emmit and have the ability to minister to the needs to others. Pastor Doran’s message was a great encouragement & challenge to my heart.

Great examples, Carissa. We will continue to pray for Amy.
