Well, Lord willing, this will be my last post about Mark.  God has answered your prayers for Mark’s physical healing.  When I went to see him at home a couple of days ago I was shocked at the fact that his wounded leg is almost back to its normal size.  I have not personally seen the skin grafts, but this week the doctors said they look very good.  Mark’s thigh is also healing.

None of us knows what tomorrow may bring and that is certainly the case for Mark at this time.  It is difficult for a young man to be out of work for so long.  Since creation, God has made man to work for His glory and it brings fulfillment to do so.  It is also difficult for an adult man to be in a position where it is necessary for his parents to care for him.  Our parents have provided sacrificial care for the past two years since Mark’s initial accident.

Soon Mark will gain enough physical strength to be back on his feet.  Unfortunately the worker’s comp issue is still unsettled, so Mark is not free to look for new employment, nor are all his medical needs covered.  Many uncertainties lie ahead, but we are confident that our Heavenly Father is sovereign and always does what is best and good.  We would love to see Mark spend some time in Africa with Rob and are praying that God would open that door if it is His will.  We are also praying that God will send along people to encourage Mark in the Lord.  Scripturally our prayers for Mark are as follows:

That he would HOPE in God

Psalm 42:11 and 43:5—Why are you in despair, O my soul?  And why have you become disturbed within me?  Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God.

Psalm 62:5-6—My soul, wait in silence for God only, for my hope is from Him.  He only is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I shall not be shaken.

Romans 15:13—Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

That Mark would grow spiritually and be used for God’s glory

Philippians 1:6—For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

Colossians 1:9-11—For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience.

Thank you so very much for how you have ministered to our family by praying and also by meeting physical needs.  Please join us in praying the above Scripture for Mark so that we may all glorify God together for what He has done and will do!
